Yemen’s government armed forces said they carried out 71 attacks on Houthi positions in Taiz province in the country’s south-west.

Based on a statement by the spokesperson of the army, these attacks targeted concentrations of Houthi auxiliary forces and military deployments in several areas of the province. He said the attacks destroyed a number of Houthi transport and support vehicles, inflicted casualties among the group’s forces, and disrupted its ability to continue the fighting.

Yemen’s army said its operations in Taiz will continue.

Yemen’s government forces also announced last week that they had advanced in Taiz province and taken control of the heights overlooking the area. Saudi Arabia, in coordination with Yemen’s government forces, is preparing for a major offensive against the Houthis, aimed at recapturing areas along the Red Sea coast, including the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.
