The Yemeni government announced that the military operation “Fajr Yemen” against the Houthis is making progress, and its officials held a meeting to increase security readiness.
According to the state news agency Saba, Shaya’ Al-Zandani, Yemen’s prime minister, met in Aden on Tuesday with his ministers and ordered higher security readiness, protection of vital installations, and completion of arrangements for the return of areas to the government’s authority.
He called for increasing diplomatic efforts to explain the objectives of this operation, including protecting shipping in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandeb Strait, and to secure international support.
Al-Alemi, a resident of areas under Houthi control, urged people not to respond to recruitment calls, and asked the Houthi fighters to lay down their weapons. Taher Al-Aqili, Yemen’s defense minister, also ordered the continued implementation of approved plans.
