Yemen’s deputy defense minister, in an interview with Al Jazeera, said that the region and the international community have become aware of the dangers and threats posed by the activities of the Houthi militias.

سمیر الصبری, described the ultimate goal of forces supporting Yemen’s legitimate government in the fight against the Houthis as achieving “a decisive military victory” and restoring state institutions.

According to him, despite the intensification of the fighting with the Houthis, Yemeni forces are still advancing with “great speed and mobility.”

The military commander emphasized that Sanaa, the capital under Houthi control, remains a direct military target, and that the timing and the moving through areas close to it are among the factors affecting the start of the operation toward this city.

سمیر الصبری said that controlling the Bab al-Mandab strait and the western coasts is important due to their strategic significance and their connection to global and regional issues, adding that the forces’ attention is still focused on Hodeidah, Sanaa and Saada.
