Yadollah Javani, political deputy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, in an interview with the Islamic Republic of Iran’s TV, said: “The enemy should know that it cannot carry out any surprise actions against us, and it must be prepared for strategic surprises.”

He said the armed forces of the Islamic Republic will carry out any action they deem necessary to defend the country, ensure security, and counter threats, at the appropriate time.

Javani also described the actions taken by the armed forces of the Islamic Republic so far as “defensive,” and said these actions may become “offensive” in the future.

In another part of his remarks, the political deputy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps said that the new commanders of the armed forces are among the “best,” and that Majtabi Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, has set out his wishes in his rulings on their appointments.

According to Javani, the armed forces will have “transformative approaches” based on these rulings.
