The World Gold Council says Iranians have reduced their purchases of gold bullion and coins this spring by 53% compared with the same season last year.
According to this report, in the first three months of the war, Iranians have bought only 6.2 tons of gold bullion and coins, the lowest figure since spring 1401.
The price of gold coins has increased by almost three times since the beginning of last spring, and the Bahar Azadi coin at one point also passed over two million tomans. Over the same period, the Iranian rial has lost more than half of its value.
Figures from this international institution also show that Iranian citizens have reduced their purchases of gold jewelry this spring by 26%, bringing it to 5.4 tons.
