🔸 الحوثی‌ها: We targeted Aramco’s Jizan refinery in Saudi Arabia

The Houthi group in Yemen, affiliated with the Iranian government, announced that it had targeted the Jizan refinery of Saudi Arabia’s Aramco.

The Saudi Ministry of Energy had said earlier that a fire had occurred at this refinery and that it had been brought under control, but it had not mentioned anything about the fire being caused by an attack.

The ministry had only stated that the relevant authorities were in the process of completing the necessary measures to deal with this incident. This refinery in the southwest of Saudi Arabia processes 400,000 barrels of crude oil per day. According to the ministry, no case of injuries resulting from this attack has been reported.

Yahya Sarea, the Houthi military spokesperson, wrote on Sunday, August 9 (18 Mordad) on the social media platform X that the group had targeted the refinery with a drone. The Iranian government and its allies, including armed Shiite groups in Iraq and Yemen, have targeted Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Persian Gulf region since the date when the United States and Israel attacked Iran on February 28, disrupting the shipment of their energy supplies.
