🔻Warning by the Gulf of Persian Waterways Management Authority to “Non-compliant Vessels”
The Gulf of Persian Waterways Management Authority—established by Iran after the recent war—has, in its latest update, warned some companies regarding their links with “non-compliant vessels.”
The authority has published an “updated” list of 77 “non-compliant” ships.
In the authority’s statement, it said: “Insurers, PI&D clubs, as well as classification societies are warned that, in order to avoid the consequences arising from dealing with these vessels, they should refrain from providing services to them.”
With the start of the forty-day war, Iran announced that it had closed the Strait of Hormuz and would only grant transit permission to some ships. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps targets some vessels that attempt to pass without Iran’s permission.
