🔻Iran says it has “no” involvement in Yemen

Ismail Baqayi, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said today in his weekly press briefing that “there is no intervention by Iran in discussions related to Yemen.”

He also said that “Yemen’s problems have deep roots, and Iran is ready to engage in dialogue to resolve the issues.”

Meanwhile, today the South Korean Foreign Ministry condemned attacks on civilian and economic facilities in the south of Saudi Arabia.

In its statement, South Korea said: “The Houthis’ attack on civilians and on civilian facilities, and actions that endanger the freedom and safety of navigation, are in no circumstances justifiable.”

The war in Yemen has escalated in the past month, and the Iran-aligned Houthis have taken control of the Bab al-Mandab Strait from the forces of the Yemeni government, which are supported by Saudi Arabia.
