Verbal tensions between officials of the Islamic Republic and the United States have increased as the negotiations have grown more complex. In response to a request for compensation from the Islamic Republic, Donald Trump said that if compensation were to be paid, the Islamic Republic must pay compensation for the damages, which he said, it has caused to the United States over the past 50 years, as well as for the killing of protesters in Iran.
