🔶 "Verbal clash between Trump and US defense secretary over issue of reducing weapons stockpiles"

The Washington Post reported that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, had a dispute with his defense secretary last week, and told Pete Hegseth that “the White House has been misled regarding the status of America’s weapons stockpiles, on the verge of the likelihood of returning to large-scale military operations against Iran.”

According to the report, the conversation took place at Camp David, on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting. The Washington Post, citing two people familiar with the matter, wrote that Trump told Hegseth that he believed the problem of a shortage of long-range missiles and interceptor missiles had “been resolved.”

The report adds that the defense minister attributed this shortage to his deputy, Stephen Feinberg.

However, Karoline Leavitt, a White House spokesperson, completely denied the report and told the Washington Post: “This news is 100% fake and fabricated. Nothing like this has ever happened officially. President Trump has the utmost and full confidence in Hegseth.”
