⚡The U.S. Secretary of State said that at present no meetings with officials of the Islamic Republic are planned during the UN General Assembly in New York, but the United States is ready to hold talks with them.

In an interview on Tuesday with NBC, Marco Rubio said: “We are ready for that. I don’t think anything is scheduled right now, but we are certainly ready for such a thing, especially if the prospect of it leads to something positive and ultimately achieves the objective that all of this is about.”

He added: “The goal is that Iran should never have nuclear weapons. They cannot obtain that under any circumstances.”
