US President Donald Trump plans to meet Venezuela’s interim President Delcy Rodriguez for the first time on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Axios reports.

Some members of the US president’s inner circle believe that a potential meeting with Rodríguez could undermine her position in Venezuela, as she “could appear to be an American puppet.” Trump, according to the outlet, does not share these concerns.
