The US Energy Information Administration announced that it has recorded a new export record for propane (LPG) in the first half of this year.

In the first half of this year, the United States exported 2 million barrels of propane per day, which is 11% higher than the level in the same period last year.

Most of the US propane exports go to India and other countries in East Asia.

The rise in US propane exports comes as exports of this oil product from Gulf countries have been severely disrupted, and the latest reports indicate that in the entire month of August the countries in the region exported only 1.7 million tons (660,000 barrels per day) of LPG to Asian markets, which is less than half of the level before the Middle East war.

This oil product is also used as fuel and as a feedstock for petrochemical plants.
