🔻US CENTCOM: An F/A-18 fighter takes off from the deck of the “USS George H. W. Bush” aircraft carrier

The United States Central Command (US CENTCOM) said in a post on the social media platform X that an F/A-18 fighter is scheduled to take off from the deck of the aircraft carrier “USS George H. W. Bush.”

The fighter’s flight will take place while the aircraft carrier is moving in the waters of the region.

According to CENTCOM, the carrier is currently moving in the waters of the region and is supporting the implementation of the “Steel Wall” maritime blockade by the United States against Iran.

In its post, CENTCOM added that as of August 12, Wednesday, within the framework of Iran’s maritime blockade, American forces have rerouted the routes of 59 commercial vessels, disabled three ships, and boarded two vessels to ensure full compliance with the blockade regulations.

Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said that his country has full control of the Strait of Hormuz and will keep it.

He called Iran’s maritime blockade a “Steel Wall” and said that “Iran can’t do anything to get rid of it.”

But Iran says that it effectively has control over much of this ‘strait’ and wants to impose a toll system in retaliation for the war that Trump began on February 28 (9 Esfand).

Iran says it will not allow ships to pass through the strait without coordination with this country; many reports of shots fired at ships in this waterway have been published, which has effectively disrupted the commercial route and thrown the global economy into turmoil.

The aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush entered CENTCOM’s area of operations in the Middle East nearly four months ago.
