The UN special envoy for Yemen, in a post on the social media platform X, criticized the Ansarallah movement’s attacks on civilians and wrote: “I am deeply concerned about attacks that lead to civilian and military casualties.”

Hans Grundberg said that, based on reports, these attacks have resulted in damage to infrastructure, including at the port of Mokha in Yemen.

He noted that we are currently witnessing the highest escalation of military activity since the ceasefire brokered by the United Nations in 2022—a situation that greatly increases the risk of Yemen returning to an all-out conflict.

The UN special envoy for Yemen called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and emphasized that this conflict can only be resolved through diplomacy.

The Yemeni army announced early on Monday, 19 Mordad, that in an attack by the Houthis—backed by the Islamic Republic—on the port city of Mokha, on the Red Sea, four military personnel and three civilians were killed, and 30 others were injured.
