The UK Maritime Trade Operations organization announced that the captain of an oil tanker heard the sounds of two explosions while passing through the Strait of Hormuz. According to this organization, the incident occurred 9 nautical miles southeast of Qumzar, Oman.

The organization added that the crew and the tanker are safe, and so far no environmental damage has been reported.
