🔶 UAE presidential adviser: Talks with Iran are the key to ending the crisis

Anwar Gargash, the diplomatic adviser to Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, emphasized the importance of keeping communication channels open with Iran in order to help the region move away from months of fighting.

Gargash, referring to the recent meeting between Sheikh Khaled bin Mohammed and Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, at the BRICS summit in Delhi, said the meeting showed “to what extent the voice of rationality is important for restoring peace and stability.”

He also said that in the talks between Sheikh Khaled and the Iranian president, “an agreement was reached regarding the need to open a new chapter.”

Gargash added: “We will protect our interests if necessary. But there will certainly also be discussions with the leadership of Iran, especially with the president of that country, who has issued several statements so far.”
