🔸U.S. use of Bulgarian air base; Araqchi’s call with his Bulgarian counterpart
The Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced a phone conversation between the country’s foreign minister and his Iranian counterpart.
In a message it posted on the X network, it said that Veleslava Petrova, the foreign minister, in her call with Abbas Araqchi “emphasized Bulgaria’s commitment to maintaining good relations with Tehran and continuing bilateral dialogue.”
Petrova told her Iranian counterpart that her country’s parliament’s decision regarding the deployment of U.S. air refueling aircraft is in line with Bulgaria’s obligations within the framework of bilateral strategic cooperation [with the United States] and does not mean a change in Bulgaria’s stance toward Iran.
She emphasized that “Bulgarian territory will not be used for direct military actions related to the Middle East dispute.”
