🔸 The U.S. Treasury Secretary says Iran did not load even a single shipment of crude oil on oil tankers in September. Data from oil-tanker tracking companies also shows that in this month no crude-oil loading was recorded from Iran’s ports.
🔸 Speaking on Thursday evening, Mehr 9, Scott Bessent wrote on the social network X: “Iran loaded zero barrels of crude oil onto tankers in September,” adding that the Trump administration is cutting the “most vital source of income” for the Islamic Republic.
🔸 Preliminary oil-tanker tracking data published by Bloomberg, as well as information from the companies Kpler and Vortexa, indicates that throughout September no crude-oil loading was recorded from ports in Iran.
🔸 This comes despite estimates by Kpler and Vortexa that Iran’s crude oil and condensate loading in August was around 220,000 to 255,000 barrels per day.
🔸 Iran is still delivering some oil that had previously been loaded and stored in Asian waters to Chinese buyers, but these reserves are decreasing without the departure of new cargoes from Iran.
