🔸 The U.S. Department of the Treasury introduced the Russian financial network “E7,” which, according to Washington, has helped Iran bypass sanctions, sell oil, and procure weapons, as an “important transnational criminal organization,” and imposed sanctions on it.
🔸 The ministry said the “E7” network, using a set of intermediary companies in different countries, was presenting payments related to sanctioned entities as ordinary commercial transactions, thereby enabling money transfers outside the conventional banking system.
🔸 According to the U.S. Treasury, the Central Bank of Iran and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps were among the entities that used routes created by this network for international money transfers. Washington also says intermediary companies linked to “E7” played a role in the sale of Iran’s oil and in efforts related to the purchase of weapons.
