The U.S. Secretary of State on Monday rejected Zelensky’s claim that the United States has stopped part of the exchange of information with Ukraine.
During a trip to Uzbekistan, after visiting the Registan Square in Samarkand, Marco Rubio told reporters: “I don’t know where he gets these things or why he tells these things to the media. Go ask him. There’s been no stoppage.”
Rubio added about Zelensky that his focus and America’s focus should be on “ending this war.”
In an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday, Volodymyr Zelensky, president of Ukraine, said that the exchange of information was cut and then “unblocked,” adding, “We are very grateful. It’s working now.”
Last week, Trump said that the U.S. is still providing information to Ukraine.
Ukraine relies on U.S. information to identify the fast ballistic missiles that Russia has launched in waves at its cities.
U.S. officials have also rejected claims that new restrictions on Ukraine’s use of the Starshield system, made by the company SpaceX, are being attributed to the U.S. government.
