👈 U.S. embassy in Saudi Arabia placed on alert

Following the intensification of Yemen’s blockade against Saudi Arabia’s airspace, the U.S. diplomatic delegation in Riyadh, by issuing an urgent statement, increased the level of security measures for its nationals and staff.

Due to the high likelihood of escalation in clashes and attacks on airports, the U.S. embassy issued a serious warning regarding large-scale flight cancellations and the closure of Saudi Arabia’s airspace.

Travel by U.S. government staff within a 20-mile radius of the Yemen border has been announced as prohibited; also, travel to the provinces of Jizan, Asir, Najran and the cities of Qatif, Yanbu and Taif requires special security authorization
