U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that its forces have, to date, diverted 125 commercial ships in order to ensure full compliance with U.S. sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

In a message on the social media platform X, CENTCOM said that the aircraft carrier USS George H. W. Bush is also currently supporting the implementation of the U.S. sanctions against the Islamic Republic in the Arabian Sea.

Earlier, the U.S. Central Command also emphasized that a claim made by one of the senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps that the Iranian regime, through its “navy,” has full control of the Strait of Hormuz is incorrect.

In its verification report published on X on Monday, October 6 (Mehr 6), CENTCOM stressed that the Islamic Republic has no control over the Strait of Hormuz, and cited “the free passage of thousands of ships and the transfer of more than one billion barrels of oil from this strait in just the past few months” as evidence of this.
