〰 U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM):

At 10:00 p.m. Eastern Time on July 29, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces, in response to yesterday’s missile attacks on U.S. forces, successfully carried out a heavy wave of strikes against Iran.

CENTCOM assets targeted dozens of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) assets in Iran, including military command centers, missile and drone facilities, surveillance and coastal defense sites, and maritime capabilities. The purpose of these strikes was to further reduce threats posed by Iran and its proxy forces against U.S. forces, commercial shipping, and the countries neighboring the Persian Gulf.

On July 28, IRGC forces launched, in a surprise attack, several ballistic missiles from Iran toward U.S. forces deployed in the Middle East. All Iranian missiles were successfully intercepted.

More than 50,000 U.S. military personnel are currently deployed in the Middle East and remain highly alert, focused, lethal, and ready.
