🔶 “Two explosions reportedly heard by an oil tanker near the coasts of Oman”
The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said early Thursday, August 6 (15 Mordad), that an oil tanker reported two explosions near the coast of Oman while transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
The organization said it received a delayed report about an incident that occurred about 9 nautical miles (16.7 kilometers) southeast of the Qumzar area in the country of Oman.
According to the report, the tanker’s captain heard the sounds of the explosions.
The UKMTO stressed that the vessel and all of its crew are in full health and that no environmental damage has been reported. The center advised ships passing through the area to take the necessary precautions and to report any suspicious activity.
