🔸Turkey’s Justice Minister Akin Gurluk said that a student in front of a high school in western Manisa province in Turkey fired at his classmates and wounded eleven students.

🔸The shooting took place on the morning of Tuesday, September 31, and images released show the injured being taken to hospital by ambulance. The motive for the attack is not yet known.

🔸Gurluk said on the social media platform X that two of the injured are in critical condition and that the attacker has been arrested.

🔸Two deadly shootings in April sparked anger in Turkey and prompted authorities to implement new security measures for the 2026–2027 school year, including stricter gun checks.

🔸İyodet Yilmaz, the deputy head of the presidency, said that Mustafa Sefitci, the minister of interior, and Yusuf Tekin, the minister of national education, are going to Manisa to carry out inspections.
