Turkey’s foreign minister said Ankara is working with other countries on new proposals aimed at bringing the United States and the Islamic Republic to an agreement to end the war.

Hakan Fidan told Turkey’s NTV network: “Turkey and other countries are presenting proposals and making every effort to achieve results from negotiations between the United States and Iran.”

Fidan did not provide details of these proposals, but referred to the lack of trust between Washington and Tehran.*

He said: “There is severe mistrust between the parties. Now both sides are openly trying to move this process in a way that will secure their interests.”
