Turkey has issued a yellow weather warning for most regions of the country due to heavy rains, the Turkish meteorological service reported.

More than 40 flights bound for Istanbul were diverted to other airports, the NTV broadcaster said, citing the country's Transport Ministry. Istanbul's schools will be closed until October 19, the city's Governor Davut Gul said.
