🔶 Trump: We do not have negotiations with Iran, and a military option is not off the table

Donald Trump, the U.S. president, said on Thursday, 5 Shahrivar (August 27) that Iran is in a “very difficult situation” and is even unable to pay the salaries of its military personnel.

Trump stressed that the current actions (economic pressures) by the United States against Iran do not mean sidelining the military option. He also said Washington has no intention of reviving negotiations or holding a meeting with Tehran.

The U.S. president claimed that the Strait of Hormuz is open and that American forces have fully mine-cleared it. He also assessed Russia’s performance with regard to the Strait of Hormuz as very good.

Earlier, Ana Kelly, deputy spokesperson of the White House, also said in a statement that no negotiations or discussions are taking place with the Islamic Republic and that no program for that exists. She added that the maritime blockade continues and that “economic pressure operations,” aimed at cutting off the remaining lifeblood of the economy of the Islamic Republic, are ongoing.
