🔶 Trump’s claim about an energy ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine; Zelensky says he was unaware

Donald Trump, on Sunday, October 11, wrote on his social network (Truth Social): “From this moment on, an energy ceasefire in the war between Russia and Ukraine is in place.”

The U.S. president added that “both sides have agreed,” and then addressed Kyiv and Moscow: “Don’t violate it!”

So far, no official confirmation has been published by Moscow authorities regarding this claim.

Minutes after Trump’s post was released, Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, said in an interview with the news website Axios that the news was new to him.

Zelensky said: “The announcement of this ceasefire was new information for me. But if the Russians agree to an energy ceasefire, Ukraine will also agree. If President Trump has negotiated this with Putin, please tell us when the ceasefire is set to begin; we are ready and we will accept it.”
