🔸 Trump: Control of the Strait of Hormuz is in America’s hands

Donald Trump said the United States has “complete” control over the Strait of Hormuz and that if Iran wants to “do something, it will be destroyed.” The U.S. president said in remarks to reporters on Tuesday, August 11 (20 Mordad), that: “We completely control the Strait of Hormuz. It’s in our hands, not anyone else’s. Just us.”

He added, saying he “doesn’t trust” Iran: “I’m the last person who would trust Iran. They’ve been lying to me constantly. We currently have complete control of the Strait of Hormuz. They have no control over it.”

Trump said: “Maybe at some point they’ll do something and then they’ll be destroyed, but right now we are in a very good position.”

Earlier, the U.S. president had said that the Strait of Hormuz is “open” and that the U.S. Navy has cleared the entire waterway of mines. However, the news network CNN reported that shipping-related data do not confirm this claim.
