Traffic through the Strait of Hormuz slowed down over the last weekend and on Sunday no vessels transited the waterway. Shipping tracking data showed this on Monday.
Based on data from the company Kpler, five commercial vessels passed through the strait on Saturday, and no transit was recorded for Sunday. This is in contrast to 31 vessels in the weekend before that.
The decline came after attacks on oil tankers, as U.S. and the Islamic Republic negotiations to resolve the Middle East dispute had stalled.
