🔶 تجمع دانشجویان دانشگاه علامه در اعتراض به شهریه، خوابگاه و حجاب
A number of students at Allameh Tabataba’i University gathered on Monday, October 6 Mehr, at the university’s central campus and chanted against increases in student fees, the dormitory situation, and policies related to compulsory hijab.
According to a report by the Allameh Azad channel, the students at the gathering protested the increase in tuition fees for evening students and for students extending their studies (beyond the standard years).
The state of dormitory supplies, the quality and costs of food, as well as pressures related to hijab were cited as other points of protest by the students.
During the continuation of the rally, a group of Basij forces, with claims of dialogue, entered the space of the gathering; an action that, according to the published report, was carried out with the aim of disrupting the students’ protest.
In the course of this, an individual who was standing in the line of the Basij forces threatened the students, saying he would put them “in a sack” ("tavye goni").
The students, in response to the threat, chanted: “Your ‘dialogue’ in a sack—we don’t want it, we don’t want it.”
At the gathering, the students chanted slogans such as “Forced labor, unemployment, compulsory hijab for women,” as well as “Student prisoners must be freed.”
