🚨 Threat of execution for athlete #Ali_Pishehvarzadeh

Ali Pishehvarzadeh, a young athlete and popular water polo player and lifeguard from #Rasht, is facing an unfair death sentence. Ali, who besides his sporting achievements worked honestly in a small café in the bazaar of Rasht, was arrested on the 18th of Dey last year. He has now been sentenced to death for a serious charge of “moharebeh” (enmity against God) in a completely unjust judicial process, based on forced confessions. Ali is on the brink of being deprived of life only for seeking rights and protesting. He is hope for his family and a champion for his city— not just a name on news lists. Our silence in the face of this judicial killing machine is taking this valuable young man’s life away. Let’s not allow the noose to become the share of a lifeguard who has always saved other lives.
