The Wall Street Journal reported that the U.S. Space Force has used electronic warfare systems to support operations in Iran and Venezuela; equipment that disrupts the enemy’s satellite communications and identifies threats.

After visiting a base in Colorado, the newspaper wrote that the “Midlands” system is used to disrupt enemy satellite communications, and “Banty Hunter” is used for detecting and locating electromagnetic threats.

The U.S. Space Force has also accelerated the deployment of the portable “Remote Modular Terminal” system. Over the past year, these devices have been deployed to support operations in Iran and Venezuela.

The Wall Street Journal added that the Islamic Republic has repeatedly targeted U.S. satellite communications equipment.

Joshua Lummox, a member of the U.S. Space Force, said that after the Venezuela operation, there was only 72 hours to prepare the equipment and dispatch it on a mission to Iran.

Gregory Gannion, another commander in the U.S. Space Force, also said that mastery of the electromagnetic spectrum makes it possible to maintain communications among U.S. forces and disrupt the enemy’s communications.
