The Wall Street Journal: Dan Driscoll, the U.S. Secretary of the Army, is expected to resign from his post by the end of 2026, and possibly sooner, following months of tensions with Pete Hegseth, the Secretary of Defense.

His resignation will leave the Army without a Senate-confirmed civilian secretary or a chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, after General Randy George was removed from his post in April without any explanation.

During his 18-month tenure, Driscoll worked to push forward technology modernization across the Army and helped attract more than $25 billion in private investment for infrastructure at military bases.
