🔸The United States has imposed sanctions on several individuals and entities over alleged ties to Hamas’s financial network.

🔸According to the U.S. Treasury Department, one member of Hamas’s military wing, two individuals residing in France who have played a role in financing the group, and two entities were added to the sanctions list.

🔸In a statement, the U.S. Treasury Department said: “These individuals and entities form a complex, multi-year financial structure that, under the cover of charitable institutions and using cryptocurrency, has transferred more than two million dollars to Hamas. This sum and the group’s years of activity demonstrate its ability to conceal and evade detection.”

🔸The U.S. Treasury says Salim Abdullah Salim al-Zaq, an aide to one of the commanders of Hamas’s military wing, is based in Gaza and has been placed on the latest U.S. sanctions list.

🔸According to the U.S. Treasury Department, he managed a financial network that transferred significant sums to Hamas’s Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades using various exchanges and cryptocurrency wallets.

🔸The United States, Israel, and the European Union consider Hamas a terrorist organization.
