🔸 The U.S. Senate overwhelmingly approved a bill that imposes fresh sanctions on Russia and gives Donald Trump the power to impose tariffs of up to 100% on countries that are major buyers of Russian oil and gas.

🔸 The bill, which was approved on Friday, 16 Mordad, by 86 votes in favor to 11 against, is titled “The Russia and Iran Sanctions Act, named after Lindsey O. Graham, in 2026,” and now goes to the House of Representatives for review.

🔸 In addition to sanctions against Russian officials and economic sectors, this measure also enables imposing heavy tariffs on imports from countries such as China, India, and some European countries that are still among the main buyers of Russian energy.

🔸 The bill also expands sanctions related to Iran’s energy and military sectors and includes a provision that prevents a gap from arising in the sanctioned authorities related to financing the Islamic Republic’s energy and military industries.

🔸 However, the fate of the bill in the House of Representatives is uncertain.
