The U.S. president will hold his cabinet meeting at the Camp David presidential retreat today, amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

The meeting is taking place as Donald Trump tries to find a way to end the war with Iran and, at the same time, lower gas prices, which have become a threat to Republicans in the November midterm elections.

Foreign policy and the issue of the Islamic Republic are expected to make up a large part of the agenda for the meeting. Trump is engaged in reciprocal attacks on military targets in Iran.

Unlike some previous presidents, during his time in office Trump has gone to this mountainous presidential retreat in western Maryland less often, and it will be his third trip to Camp David in his second term as president.
