The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia, in a security warning to American citizens, has advised that, given the attacks carried out on Saudi airports, “using a personal vehicle, train, or bus could be an alternative to air travel to or from Saudi Arabia.”
In the advisory, which was published on the U.S. Embassy’s X account, American citizens were asked to “follow the instructions of the national alerts issued by Saudi Civil Defense through the mobile messaging system.”
It further states: “U.S. citizens should be aware of the possibility of attacks on airports, the closure of airspace, the cancellation of flights, and travel disruptions.”
The U.S. Embassy also recommended avoiding photography and filming and sharing scenes related to countering drones and missiles and their impact sites, and said: “Some U.S. citizens have been detained for not following these rules—including taking photos of government buildings, airports, and impact sites.”
