The U.S. Department of Justice on Friday, in a new case, described an Islamic Republic missile threat that last month led to a covert change to the plane of Donald Trump, the president of this country, as an “act of terror.”
John Sauer, the deputy attorney general of the United States, referenced the incident in an emergency filing to the Supreme Court and asked that the order of the lower court to halt construction of the White House ceremony hall be overturned.
He argued that recent national security threats show the project must proceed without delay, because the hall is expected to include an underground military complex and a location for deploying drones.
In his petition, Sauer wrote: “President Trump has recently been targeted by an increasing number of attempted assassinations.” He pointed to the “threat of a missile attack against Air Force One” on Tir 17 and several previously reported incidents.
