The Saudi Ministry of Defense announced that the multinational naval defense coalition under the leadership of this country has completed the necessary arrangements to activate its structures and command.

According to the Saudi Ministry of Defense, representatives from 39 countries participated in the coalition’s third planning meeting, held on Thursday, 22 Mordad.

So far, 15 countries have signed the joint statement, and 13 other countries, after completing their internal procedures, have signed the coalition charter and announced their official membership.

Previously, Saudi Arabia had appointed Lieutenant General Abdullah Al-Shahri as the commander of this coalition, and it has now been decided that the deputy commander in the first term will be selected from Pakistan.

The coalition has stated that its objective is to strengthen maritime security, protect freedom of navigation and straits, and support global trade and supply chains, especially in the Red Sea.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense says the coalition is now moving from the stage of creating structures toward integrating the member countries’ capabilities and achieving operational readiness.
