The number of trackable commercial vessels that passed through the Strait of Hormuz reached two on Monday. Tracked traffic on Sunday was 10 vessels.

According to Reuters, based on initial data from the company Kepler, a bulk carrier with a Panama flag carrying minerals and another bulk carrier with a Liberia flag entered the strait via an unclear route. These figures do not include vessels that passed while turning off their transponders.

The US government says its navy escorts dozens of vessels through the strait, and many of these movements are not recorded in commercial tracking systems.

Chris Wright, the US energy secretary, had said on September 6: “We are escorting a lot of ships, but of course this takes the Army of the United States. The Iranians are still causing trouble, but the U.S. Navy is winning this battle.”
