The new China-DPRK Yalu River bridge officially opened to traffic on Thursday, with both sides holding a joint opening ceremony.
The cable-stayed bridge connects Dandong in northeast China's Liaoning Province with Sinuiju in the DPRK, providing a new cross-border transport link. Its 28.5-meter-wide deck has four lanes for two-way traffic and is designed to accommodate vessels of up to 3,000 tonnes.
Chinese Premier Li Qiang hailed the bridge as a new landmark of China-DPRK friendship.
