🔶 The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claims it targeted an American drone in the Strait of Hormuz

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps claimed that it “tracked and destroyed” an “MQ9 drone” belonging to the United States over the skies of the Strait of Hormuz. The IRGC said the drone was “hit” by the “advanced new system air defense” fire of the Aerospace Force.

So far, the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has not responded to this claim. In a brief statement, the IRGC did not provide any further details, including the time the incident occurred, and no images or evidence supporting the claim have been published in domestic media to date.

The IRGC and the Islamic Republic’s army had previously made claims about downing American fighter jets, which were met with denials from CENTCOM.
