The Islamic Republic executed two people early Monday on charges of spying for Israel. Government media named them as Ehsan Behzad and Pouya Safat and claimed that, “during the Ramadan War and the twelve-day war,” the two sent coordinates and images of military and security centers to Mossad. Based on this report, the sentences were carried out after being confirmed by the Supreme Court.

Government media claimed that an investigation into Ehsan Behzad’s mobile phone showed he obtained coordinates through location-finding software and sent them. Regarding Pouya Safat, it was said that he was sending images to a Persian-language television network outside the country and was identified through the same channel.

These allegations and confessions attributed to the two convicted individuals have not been independently verified.
