The Guardian, citing a senior Pakistani official, reported that despite the current deadlock, Islamabad continues behind-the-scenes diplomacy to reduce tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic.
According to The Guardian, Asim Munir, commander of the Pakistan Army, as part of efforts to prevent the escalation of the crisis, has been in contact with JD Vance, the U.S. vice president’s chief of staff, Steve Witkoff, the United States’ special envoy, and Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of the Islamic Republic.
