The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic said that no decision has yet been made to resume indirect negotiations with the United States. Abbas Araqchi told ISNA that the exchange of messages through intermediaries should not be interpreted as a return to negotiations.

He said: “Both Qatar and Pakistan continue with the exchange of messages and are in contact with us, but this does not mean negotiations.”

He said: “What was stated in the memorandum of understanding in Islamabad was the end of the war, not a ceasefire. The United States violated that memorandum and fighting resumed. Therefore, there was no 60-day ceasefire that would need to be extended.”

The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic said that previous channels no longer work and that Tehran is designing a temporary path that later will become a permanent route.
