🔶 The European Union, Turkey and Russia condemned the attack on Riyadh airport
Following the recent missile attack on Riyadh’s international airport, Kaya Kallas, the EU foreign policy chief, as well as the foreign ministries of Russia and Turkey, strongly condemned the attack and stressed the need to stop tensions.
Kallas, in a post on the X social network, described the Houthi attack on Riyadh’s international airport as a “terrible and terrorist act,” and emphasized that there is no justification for indiscriminate attacks on civilians and non-military infrastructure.
While announcing the European Union’s solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, she expressed her deep condolences to the families of the victims and also said that she would continue her contacts with Faisal bin Farhan, Saudi Arabia’s foreign minister.
Kallas added that the EU foreign ministers will review the escalation of tensions in the region on Monday, October 12. She stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between the EU’s naval operations in the Red Sea and the multi-national maritime defense alliance led by Saudi Arabia.
