👈 The European Union has allocated €1.4 billion from the profits of the frozen assets of the Russian Central Bank to support the military and increase Ukraine’s resilience.
These assets were frozen after the start of the war, under Western sanctions. Ursula von der Leyen emphasized that using the proceeds from these resources is part of Europe’s effort to push Moscow to pay the costs of the destruction caused by the war.
Europe is currently keeping the principal of the assets intact and spending its profits on the war against Russia
